Asking over 40 grand for this 3000GT VR-4 Spyder. Nope nope nope. Rare does not equal valuable. Sometimes I’d just mean the car was so crap that not many were made and even less survived.

I like these.... But come on. That’s insane. Not even the good headlights

It’s a cool car that tire enough, but the Spyder adds about 700lbs to what was already a heavy car so in my mind fact that it’s more rare than the hard top is meaningless. Plus 3000GTs Vr-4s aren’t know for being the most reliable, easy to own cars in the world. It’s in exceptional condition but I’d still say this is maybe a 10,000 dollar Car.

Not only did Kinja eat a lot of photos, your link is for a 1978 Corolla wagon. Which is actually cool in its own way.

$40k for a super low mileage variant isn’t unheard of. But at 100k+ miles? Nope.

Oh that’s from yesterday. I must not have copied the address for this ad. I’d rather have the Corolla

700?! Wow. Must be pretty complex, even with the added weight for chassis stiffening.
From everything I’ve heard and seen these would be in the running for “most complex car of the 90's”. I still want one.....

Exactly. Hard top convertibles were largely charted territory.

I was way wrong. It’s 550lbs heavier than the base 3000gt but not much more than the regular VR-4

I would too. Despite the toilet bowl color scheme it’s quite nice.

I’d still take the coupe hands down. Still amazed at how perfect Taverish’s old one looked...

Same.

It is just the weird late 70s bathroom yellow. I once helped clean a reposesed home that had a bathroom with that yellow from the vinyl floors, to the tile walls and shower, the sink and toilet. I think the ceiling was white tho. The paneling suits it too

Oh, I meant the combination of the yellow with the brown from the woodgrain.

Oh I get it

That’s what I was thinking. It’s interesting, but for $40k it better have like 2000 miles

I Like the corolla you posted.

3,700lbs, isn’t that what an average car weighs today?
![]() 03/26/2018 at 09:00 |

Depends on your definition of average. The heaviest car I’ve ever owned is my 3 series and it’s 3200.

Your 3 series weighs as much as my minivan.........
Take no offense to that, just a mere point that modern vehicles are extremely heavy.

It also weights as much as my 1991 AWD sedan
